Let's Go Wildcats!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have exciting news!  We will be opening our new security vestibule on Monday, January 13, 2020.  Maude Wilkins continues to look for ways to ensure the security and welfare of our students and staff. As part of the referendum a new security vestibule is now in place.  We will be implementing a new access control system as well as safety procedures starting on January 13, 2020.

The morning drop off will remain the same and students can enter the building through the big parking lot until 9:00 a.m.  At that point the main parking lot doors will be locked and all students will need to enter through the new Security Vestibule on Mill and Cutler Ave.  Students who walk or ride their bike to school will enter through the security vestibule. Students who walk home at the end of the day will exit out through the security vestibule.  The blacktop area will be locked.

There will be new procedures for visitors when entering the building.  Visitors will be required to enter the security vestibule, show valid Id and be entered into eVisitor Pass System in order to enter the building or pick up their child for early dismissal from school.  Visitors will not have access to any other areas of the school without prior approval.  The following procedures will be in place.  All parents/guardians/guests must have a NJ State ID or NJ Driver’s License to pick up a child early.  The principal will be called if you do not have a NJ State ID or NJ Drivers License.Visitors will show ID and get a pass through our new security monitoring system.  No ID - No entrance into building or retrieval of students. Early Dismissal - Parent/guardian must send in a note or call ahead. Only Guardian 1 or Guardian 2 in our Genesis System will be permitted to pick up your child unless a note is sent in with the child. All notes will be called and confirmed.

We need your help and cooperation for our system to work effectively. Our office staff handles multiple tasks. Although they will work diligently to help you gain access into the building as quickly as possible, there may be a short delay until someone can view your ID and allow access.  Please help by identifying yourself and providing your child’s name. Again, all visitors must enter the building through the security vestibule for a visitors pass. Visitors also must hand in their badge when exiting the building through the security vestibule.

We ask for your patience as we all get acquainted with this new system and remember that we have your child’s best interest at heart.  As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Steve Ormsby
